I teach Spanish Language & Culture and Spanish Literature & Culture, and I built this grader for my own classroom first. Grading essays well takes hours every week, and I wanted feedback my students could actually use the next day. Every rubric behavior is calibrated against my own judgment as a teacher, essay by essay. The curricula and kits in the shop come from the same place: materials I made to teach my own classes. No. Every score comes with a written justification that quotes the essay, and borderline calls are flagged so you can see exactly where a decision could go either way. You always have the final say and can adjust any score.

Right now the grader grades the persuasive essay for Spanish Language & Culture, scored against a detailed rubric with a row-by-row breakdown. Support for Spanish Literature & Culture essays is coming next. Submit essays however they come: paste the text, or upload PDF, Word, or image files, including photos of handwritten work. For a whole class set, upload one PDF or file with all the essays and it splits them by student automatically, or use a CSV.

Yes. Upload the full official recording. The app transcribes it and pulls out the source automatically, removing the exam instructions, and you can review and edit the text before evaluating. You can also paste the official script instead. Free accounts include 10 audio transcriptions per month; the Teacher plan includes 100, which comfortably covers a full teaching load.

You can try it without an account. A free account includes 30 evaluations in your first month, enough for a full class set, and 5 per month after that. The Teacher plan starts at $7/month and is priced by your class size.

Both. Along with the rubric scores, each evaluation includes teachable feedback that students can act on, written in English with quotes from the student's Spanish, in the style of exam sample commentaries.

Yes. Open Manage Membership and change your student count at any time. When you add students, the change applies right away, you pay the prorated difference for the rest of your billing period, and your evaluation limit rises immediately. When you remove students, the change takes effect on your next billing date, and you keep your current limit until then. Your limit is always 4 evaluations per student, every month.

Yes, from Manage Membership. Switching to annual applies right away with a prorated adjustment. Switching from annual to monthly takes effect when your current billing period ends, so you keep the annual plan you paid for until then.

Yes. Generate a quote instantly at app.guayabaeducation.com/quote — pick your number of students and you'll get a formal quote your business office can use, no account required. Have your district issue a purchase order to Guayaba Education LLC referencing the quote number, and email it to hello@guayabaeducation.com along with a copy of the quote and your tax exemption certificate, if applicable. Your membership is activated as soon as we receive the PO — you don't wait for the payment cycle — and we invoice your district. W-9 available upon request. See our For Schools page.

If you use the tool without an account, essays are processed to produce your evaluation and are not stored. With a free account, your evaluations are saved to My evaluations so you can reopen them later, and you can delete any of them right there whenever you want. Essays are processed through a secure AI API and are not used to train AI models. If you ever want your entire account and its data removed, write to hello@guayabaeducation.com.
